Excellent battery management for durability and reliability

The system monitors each of the 96 liquid-cooled battery cells individually, checking for signs of abnormality or degradation to a greater degree than any other manufacturer.

The bZ4X battery has been designed with generous battery ‘buffers’ that protect from over-charging and over-discharging, which maximises performance whilst optimising battery health, reliability and durability.

Peace of mind

For peace of mind and reassurance with this new technology, a battery ‘reserve’ has also been built in (a range beyond zero indicated miles), which acts just like a fuel ‘reserve’ (not all manufacturers have this ‘reserve’ level of charge available).

Leading battery warranty (10 years/100,000 miles)

With durability and reliability built into our battery design, we provide the longest battery warranty currently available
– Service Activated Warranty is to 10 years/100,000 miles (8 years/100,000 miles as standard).

The bZ4X has been praised by the motoring press for its agile, balanced and enjoyable drive.

Thanks to a low centre of gravity and body rigidity resulting from the Toyota’s new platform, the bZ4X delivers exceptional handling.

The newly developed AWD X-MODE, available on selected grades also enhances performance and safety, enabling bZ4X to tackle any terrain with fantastic all-wheel drive capabilities.

Comfort & Space

bZ4X has a long wheelbase for excellent interior space. The intelligently designed cockpit, featuring premium recycled materials delivers a refined and comfortable experience.

bZ4X offers class-leading leg room for all; with a one-metre distance between the front and rear hip points, and a generous 452 litre boot capacity.

Efficiency & Aerodynamics

The bZ4X’s motor(s), battery management and aerodynamics work together with our pioneering heat pump technology to provide excellent efficiency – meaning better range, and lower running costs.

Aerodynamics are very important to an EV. The bZ4X has various features integrated into the design to optimise airflow, including:

  • Strategically placed apertures in the front bumper corners
  • A comprehensive underbody cover
  • A split roof spoiler design
  • Alloy wheels designed with aerodynamics in mind, featuring inserts that further reduce drag

Generous Tech

bZ4X features a high level of specification from the Pure grade onwards:

Heat pump

The energy-saving heat pump is fitted as standard equipment to all bZ4X models (an optional extra with most brands). With outstanding efficiency, it heats the cabin and warms the battery to the ideal temperature, reducing the energy demand on the battery and maximising cruising range, particularly helpful in cold weather.

Safety Tech

Safety is always our priority. Awarded a 5-star rating by NCAP, the bZ4X comes with Safety Sense 3 technology as standard. Please find more information about Safety Sense 3 technology here.

Smart Connect/Multimedia tech:

  • Toyota Smart Connect provides a slick and intuitive digital experience with live Over-The-Air updates and Live Traffic updates. Powerful, fast and packed with features to help you stay ahead.
  • ‘Pure’ grade models have an 8” touchscreen infotainment system, the Motion and Vision have a larger 12.3in screen.
  • All models come with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay smartphone mirroring as standard.

 

MyTOYOTA App:

The MyToyota app provides convenient connected services features via your smartphone, including:

  • EV battery management and charging scheduler – provides current charge level and enables charging for when your electricity tariff is cheapest.
  • Remote-Climate ‘pre-conditioning’ – enables pre-cooling/heating of the cabin ahead of your journey – a real creature comfort!
  • EV Coaching – hints and tips to adapt your driving style for the maximum efficiency and range.
  • Access to the Toyota Charging Network – helps make public charging easy and convenient (subscription required).
